PHOTOGRAPHY AND FILMING
1. Purpose
This policy outlines the conditions under which photography and filming may occur at Pinks Reserve Regional Netball Facility, ensuring the safety, privacy, and respect of all participants while recognising the public nature of the venue.
2. Legal Context
Pinks Reserve Regional Netball Facility is a public space. Photography of people (including children) is permitted in public spaces except when the images are:

Indecent

Taken covertly in change rooms or toilets

Restricted by a court order (e.g. custody or witness protection)

Defamatory

Used for commercial purposes without consent
Netball Victoria’s Child Safety in Netball Policy strictly prohibits taking, reproducing, or distributing images of children without consent from the child and their parent / guardian.
3. General Rules

No live streaming of any game is allowed at any time.

No photos or videos may be taken in toilet or change room areas.

Respect requests from individuals who do not wish to be photographed or filmed.
4. Association Photography
LYVNA may appoint photographers, committee members, or staff to capture images and videos for promotional, training, and celebratory purposes.

Images will not be used in a way that is adverse or defamatory.

LYVNA will not use images for commercial gain.

All images remain LYVNA property, with personal details kept confidential.
5. Competition Photography

By entering a LYVNA competition, all participants (and parents / guardians for under-18s) consent to photography / filming for approved purposes.

Coach / Team Manager are responsible for informing all players of this policy.

If you do not give permission, notify the competition office in advance.
6. Parents and Spectators

Photography for private, personal use is allowed but should focus on your own family members.

Avoid capturing others without consent.

Notify the coach, team manager, and one of the umpires before taking photos or videos.

If any person objects, no photography or filming is permitted during that game.
7. Clubs and Organisations
Clubs wishing to photograph or film games must ensure their photographer:

Reports to the office and advises the committee member on duty of their intent and court location.

Wears identification showing “Club Photographer” and the club’s name.

Notifies coaches, team managers, and an umpire before filming.

Respects any refusal for photography - no images can be taken in those cases.
8. Reporting Concerns
If you suspect or become aware of inappropriate use of images:

Inform a LYVNA Committee member immediately.

Lodge a formal written grievance via the LYVNA complaint form.

Contact police if the conduct may be unlawful or dangerous.
LYVNA will investigate concerns in line with its Bylaws, the Netball Australia Integrity Policy Framework, and Member Protection Policy.
